Green fiber refers to a chemical fiber whose raw materials are derived from biomass and recyclable materials, the production process is low-carbon and environmentally friendly, and the finished product is environmentally friendly after being discarded. The entire life cycle of the product is required to have "green" characteristics.

The "Green Fiber" logo is a certification trademark registered by the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, used to certify the materials of recycled chemical fibers, bio-based chemical fibers, and liquid-colored chemical fiber products. It can be applied to fibers and yarns. Thread, fabrics, clothing, home textiles, industrial textiles and other fields. "After the enterprise passes the application, review, inspection, and approval, it can obtain the right to use the green fiber logo and accept the supervision and management of the trademark use process by the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association." said Wang Yuping, secretary general of the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association.

Fiber is the source of the textile industry chain. At present, chemical fibers account for more than 50% of my country's textile processing fibers, and more than 90% of the products in the chemical fiber industry are derived from petroleum. The cost of raw materials accounts for more than 80% of production costs, and imports account for about 2/3 of the total demand for chemical fiber raw materials. . As a major chemical fiber country that accounts for 70% of the world's output, the development of green fibers has become a general trend if the problem of raw materials is not led by other countries.

As the main force of green fibers, biomass fibers processed from agricultural, forestry, and marine by-products are rich in resources, sustainable, renewable, and compatible with the human body. They are widely used in underwear, shirts, home textiles and other fields. It can be used for medical textiles, radioactive material barrier cloths, labor protection products, water purifiers and air filter materials, etc.

my country's abundant reserves of biomass raw materials also provide favorable conditions for the development of material fibers. According to statistics, there are about 3 billion tons of crop straw and tree resources in my country, about 2 billion tons of marine shellfish and seaweeds, and about 30 billion tons of animal and plant protein fiber resources. In recent years, with the improvement of enterprises' R&D and innovation capabilities, chitosan fiber, bamboo pulp fiber, hemp pulp fiber, etc. have been industrialized one after another, and my country's biomass fiber is entering a rapid development path.
